Thanks i found them. I replaced the two that were no good and the other two were in good shape. i would have replaced all 4 but they are expensive. got them from Mazda for 135$ each. I have new plugs, wires and 2 of the 4 coils.

You could have bought all 4 from Advance Auto for what you paid for 1 from the dealer.

$135 per coil seems a little expensive - Mazda USA themselves list them at $80.30 each and for example, Rosenthal Mazda in Arlington VA lists them at $64/each (obviously plus shipping and all that jazz).
If you're eligible for Mazdaspeed membership you'll get them even cheaper.

I bought them from the Mazda parts counter and it did seem a little much, wondering if he maybe charged me for a set for each coil. I'm glad i didn't get all 4, definitely going to look at some of the sites you guys recommended.
Appreciate all the help!

I don't know if there is an Advance Auto parts near you.
I use them for all my aftermarket parts.
I ordered my first set online about 3 years ago, picked them up at the store the next day.
I got all 4 for $125, and that was before I found out about the internet coupons that can yield substantial savings.
They come with a lifetime warranty, and at most places they will simply swap them for new ones if you tell them they are bad, theoretically getting free coils for life.
Personally, I wouldn't do it, but plenty of people do.
