Exclamation Cold weather - No start first crank.

So it was pretty cold. I live in virginia so weather here is pretty crazy. Car was frosted over. Went to turn on to warm it up and i cranked it for 7-8 seconds before letting it rest. 2nd crank, cranks almost instantly but now the check engine light is on. any ideas what could be wrong? Spark plugs going bad?

Weak battery is what I'd guess from the long crank.

The CEL could have one or more of several dozen codes. Without that code we can't tell you what it is.

Crankshaft? I was about to guess that the battery is weak too...
