VA Compression Results

Hey guys I was just looking for some help understand my compression test results. I got the test because im having starting issues.

The Mazda tech pretty much said rotor 2 is on its last legs but from what i understand. Youre supposed to normalize results to 250 rpm. So is it still bad compression and if not does this just mean i need a new starter?

Thanks

Assuming you have hot starting issue, put in the 2.0 Kw starter and replace coils, plugs and wires if you havnt dont yet.
Youre compression is low, however its still above minimum, personally id wait till near dead, but i guess that all depends on youre budget.

Front rotor is weak, rear rotor is dying. New starter is a stopgap that WILL keep it running if you have hot start issues, but, it's only a matter of time. However, that time could be months or years.

Alright. I guess new starter it is for now. I did the whole ignition system a few months ago. Hopefully it can hold on for a while.

That rear rotor is dead. I mean it is literally at the line. The only money you should be putting in, should be towards a rebuild.

An upgraded 2009+ manual starter (even the 2KW S1 starter is weak) would help it start better, but by driving it, you are potentially making parts that would have been reusable in the rebuild unusable.

Could damage the core engine at this point. Rotary Resurrection can do rebuilds that are pretty affordable, as long as your core is intact. I would consider that before driving the car into a deep grave, at least.

Pineapple and RR are our go to's for engine rebuilds.

Actually, Black Halo should be up and running soon, and I may try and get my hands on a low compression engine and send it to him so I have a spare.
