Compression Test...

I blew my engine, so I was online looking to buy another one. I found one with 46k for 2200.00.

This video is from the guys selling the engine, are those good compression numbers?

Don't buy a used engine for $2200.00, you can get a fresh rebuild for not much more. I would never buy a used Renesis unless I drove it before and removed the engine myself.

I agree with 9krpmrx8. I had my engine rebuilt by OJ Imports for about that much (including round-trip freight shipping costs from IL to TX).

You can get a Mazda reman engine from Jim Ellis Mazda for about $3k + shipping.

Turning the engine without oil in it. Strike one...
Using a regular compression meter. Strike two...
Compression meter barely reaches 100. Strike three...
Actually strike four, it's not stated if it's a 6-port or 4-port

You're the second person to post this video or another very similar. Who are these guys and can someone ask them to stop?

I was just thinking if I can get a used motor with not just good compression but EXCELLENT compression for maybe around 1,700-2,000. Hell, why not. I seen a post around here, someone buying a used one with excellent compression and low milage and lasted him pretty damn long.

That's the link for the engine, almost all the ebay sellers offer no warranty or even a compression test. Someone should sticky a warning about buying this engines from this type of guys. Pretty much buying a ticking time bomb.

P.s I really appreciate the people's help here. I know sometimes, us the noobies, get annoying with the questions, but we are like babies, who are now learning how to walk and now want to explore. Bear with me guys.

All reputable Renesis rebuilders will offer some warranty on their rebuilt engine. Even Mazda gives a 12month/12,000mi. warranty on their remans.
