Compression Test Numbers, What Should They Be?

Compression Test Numbers, What Should They Be?
OK, I'm seriously interested in a used one. It's at one of those corner used car dealers, the ones that everybody always assumes are shady. He has 2 for sale. One is automatic, the other a 6 speed. I'd much prefer the 6 speed for obvious reasons. The 6 speed is currently in the shop having a newer engine installed (22k miles on the new engine, supposedly, I don't know if there is a way to verify that). So, any way, if I pay for a compression test, what numbers am I looking for in a healthy engine? Sorry but I never thought about the RX-8 until the last 2 weeks when I totaled my Miata. I loved that little Miata more than life itself, unfortunately as I was headed home, a pine tree ran out in the middle of the road right in front of me. I'd never seen a pine tree move like that!

Did I mention that thanks to that damned pine tree that ran out in the road, I have a broken eye socket, broken nose, broken vertebrae, and a very painful left arm that got jammed against the door as the car crumpled. My back hurts so bad that I may never sleep again without drugs. Sorry if I sound loopy, but if you saw the drugs the surgeon gave me after installing a metal plate in my eye socket, you'd understand why I sound a little crazy!
