compression test results
chamber 1~677---669
chamber 2~649---672
chamber 3~643---664
250rpm
just bought the rx. Is this ok or does it need replaced? I can return it to dealership for full refund but it also said it needed a catalytic converter. would that cause any dip in this. It stalls when idling but is also sluggish on the throttle which makes me think cat.

This looks like kPa and there are six total so I'm guessing first column is one rotor and second column is the other.
OP, do you know your altitude? I hope it's well above sea level because those numbers are fairly poor.
You can do the calculation yourself if you have a computer with Microsoft Excel:

Ok that's not high enough to have a significant impact. Looks like the engine may be on its last legs and I would plan for a rebuild in the not-so-distant future. It's possible it's losing compression due in part to carbon buildup, and possible that a proper decarb procedure may help. You'll want to take it to the dealer for that.
Just curiously why did you buy it and THEN test the compression? Given that it's already not running great, and needs a cat (no that wont affect compression results), I would return it if I paid more than a couple grand for it.

If you paid more than $2k for this car, return it.
Failing ignition probably killed the cat and the dead cat probably killed the engine.
So, that's probably going to be $2500 for an engine rebuild, plus another $350 for coils/plugs/wires, plus another $1000 for a new cat.
