Compression Testing Service

What would be a fair price for on-site compression testing using a Rotary Compression Tester RCTV5.2?

Assuming the tester's owner brought the tester and tools needed to perform the test?

Also, assume the buyer does the labor of jacking the car, removing wheel & plugs.

1. Tester
2. Jack & Stands
3. 3/4" electric Impact, Lug Socket & Torque wrench
4. Ratchet, extensions & plug socket

I would personally not charge another RX-8 owner a dime if they did all of the prep work. Helping another person is reward enough, especially if they did all of the pre work themselves. I offer free compression tests when I host meets at my place in the summer and I do all of the prep work and reassembly.

30-40 bucks? With the wheel already off the whole test takes maybe 10 minutes of your time. You pay off your tester after 10ish tests and the client gets an attractive discount from Mazda's $125 or so (while doing a lot of the work).

But, as above I've both done tests for others and had tests done on mine, and no money changed hands. Beer - yes. But not money.

If someone else did the work, I'd say $20 for gas money and a pizza or burger, maybe.
Depends on how far I had to go.

If you want money, maybe ask what they're willing to pay, rather than you setting a price.

That's just my 2 cents.

Compression tester?

Newbie here, just picked up an 07 that won't start. Looking to borrow or rent a compression tester in the DC metro area. Anyone out there? Hit me up at jetfrank@yahoo.com. thanks, Frank
