Coolant light... trouble?

New plugs, wires, coils, clean MAF & temp sensors, coolant topped up and checked after several drives.

The coolant light (I think) comes on when I get up to higher speeds (80ish) and goes out at lower speeds. Though I think it might have popped on a couple times in the city speed range.

I have a CEL, but I'm not sure yet if it's just left over from the bad coil and flooding issues.

Any wisdom or suggestions?

thanks,
pz

If your coolant level is fine, then your coolant level sensor is bad. You will have to replace the over flow coolant tank. The sensor is built into it.

Check the engine light and see what it is. You may just need to reset the ECU. When i did a tune-up on my rx8, my engine light went on and i think because i changed the coils, plugs, and wires. After i reset the ECU, the engine light never went back on again.

I'm guessing a 2005 4 port. Definitely a later model 4 port on account of the gear indicator being lit in auto mode.

If u gonna replace the coolant bottle where the sensor is,
search "radiator" as many of the member here broke the radiator nipple when they replaced the bottle..
and i'm one of them..I was very careful as I 've known the issue but still..

ShellDude: close, it's an '04 with the automanual

I ran by autozone today and had the codes checked. Misfire, and some other things that i'm pretty sure were related to the issues I fixed.

Nothing about coolant though.

Did discover that there is a fuse panel by the drivers left leg. And this panel has a 20amp fuse that powers the "cigarette lighter" plug toward the back of the center console AND powers the interface to check the error codes. And when this fuse is blown neither of those work :P

Oh yah, I had them clear the codes. the CEL went out and hasn't come back on yet.

Probably won't get on the Interstate until this weekend though to see if the coolant light comes back on.
