Damnit. (coolant level light)
Alright guys, this morning i decided to add some coolant so i can see if the light would stay off. I added some coolant and some oil this morning and nothing came on. Then i leave auto mechanics and my check engine light comes on... THEN MY GOD DAMN COOLANT LIGHT AGAIN. WTF IS WRONG WITH IT.

First CONFIRM that the coolant level is correct. Adding coolant and then getting the coolant level warning light could actually be because you are spitting coolant somewhere and the level is low again. Just make sure this isn't true before you disconnect the sensor and then fry your engine.

If you conclude that everything except the sensor is OK, you can squeeze the latch, lift the plug a quarter of an inch, and just leave it there. All will look normal.
Unplugging the sensor or replacing the bottle is your decision, based on a balance between paranoia and a willingness to visually check the level periodically.

The plug on one side of the tank (passenger side), toward the front. Squeeze the tab and lift straight up.
The sensor itself is integral with the tank. It does not come out. If you want to replace the sensor you need to replace the whole tank. Replacing the tank carries some risk in that one of the hoses goes to a nipple on the radiator, and that nipple becomes fragile with age.
An alternative to fixing or defeating the light is to leave it on and tell interesting stories if a passenger asks about it. It can be interpreted as the Lincoln Memorial, a Greek Temple, a Rolls Royce Grille, or (my favorite) a Merry Go Round. Greek Temple is a good excuse to stop and get a gyro.

Sorry, but ignoring or disabling the warning light is not an acceptable solution.
Should your 8 experience sudden loss of coolant while you were driving, you would have no way of knowing until it was too late.
