Different tyres on front and rear

Hi everyone,
I'm new here and have just purchased myself an 06 RX8 with a mere 15000 miles on the clock. Ive still to take it to my local specialist but it looks like ive found a really nice car.

It came with almost new RE050 Potenzas on the front and RE040 Potenzas on the rear. I replaced the rears today after with a new pair of Goodyear Eagle F1 Assymetric 2s in standard size and I just wanted to check that it was ok to drive like this or if it might cause some handling issues? Im reading mixed opinions on it. In the short time ive driven Id say the car holds the road better now but I'm not sure if I should be replacing the front tyres as well...i had a bit of twitching in the rear at speed in the dry earlier but im not sure if thats just me gettin used to RWD and that tyre setup is actually fine...

Thanks for reading. Im glad to finally be an owner after 2 years of reading up and searching for the right one -dont get many low milers here in N.I.
