Dirt Dragster with 2006 Rx8 13b renesis and auto 6 speed trans

I'm buying a roller dirt/mud dragster and plan on putting a 2006 rx8 13b renesis engine and using the 6speed auto with it I've never really messed around much with rotary engines so can someone tell me what all I would need just to get the engine running out of the car and what I would need to get the transmission working or help me out with part numbers or other posts, also is it possible to run these 13b renesis engines on the Weber or side drafts or 2/4bbl carburetors, I'm just looking for a very simple basic way of getting the engine and transmission working together so I can drag someone's as using triangles

The RX8 engine is purpose built and all the best parts are factory, including the intake. You would need just about everything in the stock RX8 engine bay to get it to work properly. You would also need a tune done. The first thing you need to do though, is tear the engine down and rebuild it. Since it's a used engine, you will have reduced power and reduced lifespan and if installed as it is, you would end up having a more difficult and expensive rebuild on your hands. With better options out there like a V-Tech Honda 4 cylinder, it isn’t worth pursuing unless you want to really stand out. For a drag car, this engine has little torque and the auto trans won’t help. Would still be a hoot if you pull it off though. The 06 auto engine is still the high power 6 port engine. I have an 06 auto as my daily and she rips.

its not going to stay stock for long I just want to rebuild it and get it running first on a stand then bolt up the transmission and get it all laid out so I can weld up the mounts and get a drive shaft made then once its moving under its own power then itll be time for power adders, what all do I need to have installed or connected just to have it running or should I just get a wiring harness and whatever computers are needed for running it

You would want an aftermarket ECU so you can do a tune on it. You’ll need the stock intake/exhaust manifold as well. The problem you got is there isn’t a lot of room to make extra power. For a race car you would want to do some port work and possibly a supercharger or turbo system. This engine’s port design was mostly to satisfy emissions freaks who attack the humble car while dump trucks spew far more crap into the air. This means it will be hard to make 300 whp even boosted. Using an auto trans as well, you are hamstringing yourself.

As far as carbs, I think RacingBeat or similar make adapters, but there is nowhere to go but down in power if you're not using the whole engine as is. The intake valves are computer controlled and without them you're at a disadvantage already.

To get it to run you need the ECU, which needs the matching ignition key cylinder because of the built-in antitheft. The ECU needs the MAF, front O2 and coolant temp sensor to run. You could try a standalone but you'll be doing a bunch of work just to get back to stock power.

Any reason you're using the auto trans? It forces a lower redline so you're missing out on all the fun. It also adds weight and complexity. The engines are interchangeable with the trans, but the ECUs are not.

it’s entirely the wrong engine and transmission for the application. My advice is to not invest any further in it and switch to something else.

Team is right, but if you want to try and do a rotary drag build, I've seen some crazy REW dragster engines and seen even the Cosmos engines compete against crazy 10 second cars, but those cost quite a bit, especially if swapping into a RX8 and making as much power out of it.
Otherwise I would follow what team has said.

I concur. Not a great idea when you can get so much better for so much less for this application.
