Does s1 ohlins fit s2
Just got a really good deal on an ohlins. But when I look up ohlins website they only have the s1 version. Just wondering if these would still fit my s2? Also I can't verify part number if its actually for an rx8. Previous owner was using for his mx5 but said its for an rx8
Thank you

It does. The S1 as S2 overall strut package lengths are the same, but the S2 is configured slightly differently. You can't use S1 shocks or springs individually on an S2, but if you're replacing the entire assembly it's fine.
Source: ran an R3 suspension on my 2004 for years.
NC Miata and RX8 suspensions are very similar, to the point that you could interchange coilover assemblies, so that checks out.

yes; the ride height is adjustable and the mounting points are the same
however the one note to take away from this is the info is clearly stated on the Ohlins website and somebody who wasn’t even sure if they were sure of anything was only too quick to give an answer regardless of whether it was correct or not. The S1 on the part number is not related to the RX8 model type if you somehow read it that way.
.
which along the same lines, the NC MX5 Miata and RX8 assemblies will bolt onto each other, but the lengths and spring rates are most often not the same. The rear shock mount tower on the MX5 is several inches shorter than the RX8. Using the wrong shock on the wrong mount will not yield a good result. They appear to have the RX8 rear mounts installed. The MX5 mounts are raw aluminum not painted steel and they do have the correct RX8 part number in your picture. The part number for the NC MX5 is different.
