Dutch Newbie

Bit of an outsider here, but with a shared love for our Rexes.

I am Rowan, from The Netherlands, recently bought a Brilliant Black '04 HP (231).

After a good 2 months of research/talking to owners/interwebs I came across the exact model with specs I wanted.
The previous owner was not that technically inclined so I got him to do a compression test and closed the deal.
(test came out 6.5 - 7 bar at 250 rpm, do-able for a first engine at 113K km)

Plans so far:
-changing all filters and fluids
-replacing ignition (just to be sure)
-converting stock outdated nav to tablet
-either go oem or android radio (currently there is an ugly eonon hu installed)
-enjoy the car

Maybe in the future I'll go for suspension, brake, wheel and exhaust upgrades.

And ofcourse the pics:

Welcome Rowan,
That's a very nice RX-8..........
And you have a very nice Honda motorbike........!!

Thanks Ruud! Nice animation of the rotary engine you found, saw it on the FB page!
Are you going to Rotarystock this saturday?

Still a long way to, for a 2004 car it's in good condition but there's much left to do.

PS: na aanschaf ben ik gelijk begonnen met premixen, ik merk een degelijk verschil. Bedankt voor de positieve reactie!

Did a full service (all fluids and filters) and lowered the licence plate.
Next up is an ignition upgrade and replacing the oil cooler hoses(rust is getting to them).

I currently premix around 1:200, still waiting on Wesley's big buy-in of Idemitsu.
What do you use?

Do it! It's one of the most rewarding 10 minute jobs I ever did.
