Eccentric Shaft Wobble

I have recently taken the journey to rebuild my rx8 engine and recently put it back in the car and got it running till I noticed my main pulley seemed to be wobbling I took a closer look at it and it seems not to be pulley but the main bolt looks like it went in uneven I know I am going to need to take apart the front cover but wondering what could cause this? I was thinking maybe a Needle Thrust Bearing got flattened from assembly just can't put my finger on it note I have replaced all my bearings on my engine with yellow bearing

the front hub is keyed and a machined fit to the shaft though, so it can’t generally be wobbling around without the entire e-shaft doing so, which would be a lot of bearing clearance to occur that way

you might consider removing the e-shaft pulleys and verifying that it’s not them or something keeping them from sitting flat on the mounting hub

otherwise one of the know e-shaft issues is the front nose extension becoming bent/having excessive runout

one of the issues with the “anybody can rebuild a rotary engine in their garage” stories is that slapping parts together without having/using the proper tools to verify certain things. That’s just a general statement for other people reading this, and not specifically meant towards yourself. Because we don’t know what the issue is yet on your engine.

you could also try to verify e-shaft end-play clearance, because if the end-play bearing stack somehow has an issue or fell out of place then it should show up with where the end play is now compared to when you measured it on the rebuild.
