EGIcomp2 fuse keeps blowing please help
My brothers '04 rx8 has been off the road for a little over a year now and after trying to start it today it didn't seem to want to turn over. It would crank for a second then stop altogether only to hear clicking coming from the fusebox. At this point I checked the fuse and found that the EG1COMP2 fuse had been blown, so I replaced it and tried again only to blow that one too. Read a post about disconnecting the o2 sensor, did that and the fuse still blew. I don't know why this is happening, I figure there's a short. Could it be a bad ground somewhere ? Please help, I have 2k saved up to use on repairs but I'd much rather a solution without taking it into the dealership. Would this be able to be cheaply fixed by myself or a mechanic ? Cheers, Dillon

Looks like the EGI2 fuse feeds the :
Evap pump
Fuel pump speed relay
Power to MAF
Fan relay
Air Pump solenoid trigger
Do you have any CEL's? If the evap, MAF or air pump are not working you should get a CEL
You could pull the relays one at a time and see if they stop the fuse from blowing...and then you would know which circuit to chase. It could also be a relay that is shorted out...you might want to check them as well.....that would be a likely failure point as well
There is no easy way to do this...you have to be systematic and organized and check all the wires. At least it is always doing it
...it would be way worse if it did it intermittently
Do you have the electrical schematic?
