So basically since I got the car ive been noticing that the coolant level keeps dropping... but it was filled way above the F line so I thought it was jus getting rid of the excess coolant.. and time passed n the coolant dropped below the F line n I asked abt it in this group n was informed tht it was normal.. but yesterday morning I topped up the coolant a bit n went on a trip of abt 150 kms..( was thrashing it all the way ngl ( at around 70mph constantly for ~100 km of the trip )) the temps were all normal and no check engine or check coolant lights appeared..
But the next day morning when I checked the coolant resevior it was empty so I filled it up again with some ( Würth green Coolant) and went on the same 150km journey and came back but it was raining this day n the ambient temps are much lower.. and the coolant hadn't reduced as much.. still there was a slight loss..
Key point
There are no coolants leaks anywhere
Theres no white smoke whatsoever
Theres no smell of burning coolant
There are no milky stuff in the engine oil
But the coolant cap looks suspicious as if its leaking coolant.. like the whole rubber seals have turned brown n feels brittle to the touch.
So I have ordered a new 88kpsi coolant lid n its otw.. what do you guys think can it be something else.. maybe a cracked resevior...??
And why didnt I get a coolant light at all the day before I discovered an empty coolant tank..?
the engine runs healthy with no power loss or anything whatsoever... jus thinking if it has a power loss makes me feel like I had a power loss but then I take it for a spin to check out n there is no power loss..😀 so its all good.
This is the coolant tank.. is this discolouration normal..?

Reason: misspelled title
Coolant level do rise when they are hot.
Do a cooling system pressure test and see if the coolant level drops. If that's an external leak you should see some drips. Test the cap as well. If that's an internal leak you should see white smoke upon start up.
There could also be air in your system that you might not be aware of.
