Engine swapped RX-8 Euro 4 emission compliance
Dear Members!
I am thinking that if I were to replace the engine in a Mazda Rx-8 with a 1UZ-FE Toyota V8 engine, how would a standard euro 2 emission standard, no EGR, factory simple catalytic converter engine perform in the RX-8? If we leave the factory Mazda RX-8 catalyst in the exhaust system, what effect can it have on emissions, engine performance and its lifespan?
Do you have any experience with this? What can you recommend?
Greetings from Hungary!

Isn't there a emission exempt for rotaries in all EU? Atleast in my country.
Not sure if you could just "cheat it out" and not tell them there is engine swap xD. Put the plastic covers on top normally etc and not just do a thing.
In my country they dont do emission test on rotaries.
