engine wan't rev past ~6500rpm after air pump and cat delete
Hi, I have a 2006 rx8 4 port. i had recently installed a cat-less mid-pipe and deleted the air pump (i also installed the block off plate). After test driving i couldn't get past ~6500 rpms.
I tried scanning for any faults and i got the P0410 fault which form what i read should not affect anything.
I'm not use if i messed up the rear 02 sensor while installing the ne mid-pipe, but i think that would result in getting more faults.

I would just go over all your vacuum routing and make sure it's correct. Were there any problems before you did this work?
Usually loss of power at the top end is either:
- intake valves not operating correctly (check freedom of movement and vacuum & solenoid operating)
- clogged cat (which you shouldn't have... but worth checking if there are pieces of cat in the exhaust pipe)
- miswired/misplaced fuel injectors
Other less common problems usually have other accompanying symptoms. If you're barfing oil into the intake, you'll get clouds of oil smoke and it will only happen sometimes. If your ignition has failed you'll have very poor fuel mileage and poor driveability across the rev range, depending on which plug is not firing.
