Well Ive owned my 8 for about a year. First inspection was from the dealer, recently went to get it yearly inspected an failed with

Code p0661
Intk Mani Tuning Vlv Ctrl Ckt Lo B1

Now i searched the forums extensively and have found similar but not exact posts about this code. Immediately the inspector said he'd seen it before and that my entire intake manifold had to be replaced, and it would be a couple grand to fix. I was told the (SSV) Secondary shutter valve in the intake manifold was dirty and or heavily corroded, and that would either stick open or closed eventually, if not fixed. Which what was caused me to fail inspection. So my question is, is my sensor bad in my 8 that causing this code? Is it the solenoid that operates the SSV dirty, loose, or bad? Or do i need to replace the manifold entirely, because i was told that the SSV is not removable from the intake, and in order to replace, you need an entire intake manifold.

Obviously id prefer not to replace the whole manifold and spend 1000+ dollars on parts and labor if not need be. I'm taking it to the Mazda dealer tomorrow.
