Flex A Lite vs BHR

I want a new radiator so I can use my AC without overheating. The guy before me installed a crappy used after market radiator and i can keep temps stable but I really need a good one.

Can someone please help me decide?
NOTE* id not like to go over a thousand dollars for fans and radiator.

My current fans pull 1730cfm each. If i need to upgrade please advise.

Hey, Toast!

Someone please step in here if I'm wrong, but an upgraded radiator won't help your car run any cooler, it will just vent the heat faster. If you have a shitty one now, the stock one actually works quite well. Anything beyond that won't help you, as the "upgraded" ones are more for the track/ auto cross / turbocharged crowd, who really have to manage their heat.

HI,

Thanks for that information. I was under the impression my car is running hotter than other 04 mt, i should hipefully have new oil coolers soon from a member here nice enough to donate them. Mine have the fins pressed shut like someone attacked them with a hammer. So the oil is hotter i guess. Creating the engine to require better heat dispursion. Id like to push HIGH rpms with my ac on and not see my needle move. I plan to invest a lot of money in the car over time.

From what I have gathered... the stock everything seems to be the best parts. I will try to find the stock radiator and fans.

Unless someone else has some input.

Thanks!

The stock stuff is good. If they "replaced" yours with not stock, it's probably crap.

Based on your earlier posts, and the missing air intake, the under radiator tray, the radiator replacement, etc, is it possible your car was in an unreported accident? Maybe the previous owner hit something and tried to fix it on the cheap?

Yes chris, it was in a small a cident but it was not reported. The front end bumber is held on with zip ties. They removed the intake, lower tray, and all the goodies because of the crash. The frame is fine though.

I see A LOT of so called "stock" aluminum radiators all over ebay and such... 65.00 to 200.00

I need some help making sure i buy something that is legitimate and not a piece of crap. Chris can u post a link to a suitable radiator equal or better than stock?

Im not familiar enough with the stock parts to make an un advised purchase. I did that with fans and kicked my self in the *** for wasting 80 bucks.

The undertray is critical for cooling, you need to get one.
You might try Mazmart for a radiator.
The stock temp gauge is borderline useless. The engine is already overheated when it starts to move.
I use the Torque app for Android to monitor mine.

I have the Koyo radiator for S2 cars and really like it. If you shop around, you can find the S1 Koyo for under $300. Although I can't prove it provides better cooling, it is all aluminum, which removes several potential points of failure.

The cooling system works as, well, a system. All of its components need to be present and working properly for the system to perform as designed.
