CO Front End Engine Clunk

CAR:
06 Shinka
10k on motor from Mazda
10k on Coils and spark plugs
Premium gas
Castrol GTX

I have a mechanical sounding clucking coming from the front area of the engine on cold start up. When the car is warmed up it goes away so obviously something just needs to heat up and expand.

To me it sounds like the AC pulley tensioner but I can't tell for sure... But I've never come across a pulley that stops making a noise after it's "warmed up". I'm going to undue the tensioner tonight and see if that solves the problem.

Until I get to it, I was wondering if there are any issues with the Oil Pump/Chain assembly that produces such sounds?
Or I know that the eccentric shaft has end play in it when assembling. Is this a noise all RX8s have at cold start up and when everything is warmed up and expanded it all seats properly? Is that the reason for assembling endplay to begin with?

Tanks for all responses.
I was a mechanic for a while and did a lot of research on the Rotaries before taking the plunge (BTW I love pretty much everything about them. Cared less about the mpg and all the horror stories about "crapy reliability")
Aside from my background there's still a lot to learn about the Rotaries and I love soaking up anything and everything I can to learn.
