Sorry, brand new to this. I love my RX8, 2003, 192hp, owned from new (06 UK registration), 34k mileage (!). Very sadly, the mechanic who knew my car (and loved it also) actually died last Autumn (RIP). Pretty grim. But, the rest of us need to move on, and so I need a new mechanic/garage (preferably not too far away) that knows and understands RX8's. The key problem is (a) my MOT is due in October and (b) I have a constant P2259 error code (yes, I can erase it, but within 10 miles it's back on). The previous mechanic "fixed" it a few years ago (manually engaging the solenoids, I think) and that worked for about a year or two. Last year it became constant again, and last Autumn, the random mechanic who did the MOT passed me because the engine light didn't come on when he checked the next day (or he just got bored with it all, who knows). Somehow, I don't think I will be so lucky this time. I'm not especially keen to take it to a Mazda dealership (not least because of the cost). And if I can't get it sorted for a reasonable cost, I'm gonna need to ditch it. And so (finally): Can anyone recommend a mechanic/garage anywhere near Bishops Stortford / Stansted (e.g., near CM23 5NF) who actually knows and understands RX8's?

I don't know how close or far that is, but they're one of the best reputed rotary shops in the world.

Also the solenoid that's probably responsible for the code is like $30 and protects your $2000catalytic converter... I'd get it fixed properly
