Going to join the 8 crew!
So I found a decent 04 Rx-8. Clean title, 72300 miles on it. Pearl black. Completely stock. Very good price. Clean interior and exterior. I read through the Newbie forum on what to do and ask before purchasing the Rx-8. I would of love starting off with an 09 and up but current budget and first rotary engine car. Rx-8 was always my dream car ever since I started playing the arcade racing game Initial D (if you guys played it, you know the Rx-8 was the best car in the whole game literally.)
Any suggestions on what to do after purchase (If I do purchase the car). I understand doing a compression check is highly recommended. I would love suggestion like what kind of oil each Rx-8's owner suggest and what kind of premium gas to use. I would love to keep this car as long as possible. Might even grab a new engine for it when it hits 100k. I understand that this is going to be a opinion based question but give me your best answer. Would love information on the Rx-8 since I would be the only one in my group of friends to be running on rotary.

Use any name brand premium gas, 91 octane or better. For oil, just read all of the oil threads on this site and you'll come away with either a definitive answer, or your head will hurt so much you won't care.
Follow maintenance tips in the new owner's thread. Or look up the recommendations that RIWWP has made one-on-one to dozens of new owners.
No need for a new engine until the old one blows. But budgeting for one is a good idea.
Hope the deal works out. The 8 is just as much fun as you think it is.

Welcome Bboy. Great choice in getting an 8. You will never go back once its in your possession.
Where in MN you from man? I'm down by the Mankato area. Wouldn't mind helping ya out if you ever needed it.

No its not. Unless you can get the car for a steal. Its not exactly cheap to get a new engine. Around here in MN Mazda will not do seals on a bad engine..you have to pay for them to put a whole new Renesis in your car.
