Greetings & Compression Test Result Question
Hello All,
Greetings from the far east!
I've attached the graphs of my recent compression test. Any comments to the results?
Rear Rotor:

Front Rotor:

It takes about 2-3 seconds to crank up and I do feel some loss of power after driving for some time.
I'm out of warranty and a rebuild is going to cost a bomb.. so I hope it has not come down to this.

My turbo 2 ran on 65psi all around, cold tested. It would barely hot start.
My xgirlfriends turbo 2 ran on 60psi all around, cold tested. It would not hot start unless you pop started it.
Both were considered blown, even though they drove and took off like a mother ****** when you hit boost. Both received rebuilds.
Around 110 is good compression for turbo 2's. 85 to 90 needs a rebuild from what I have read elsewhere online. Obviously, an rx8 will have different compression rotors, so your target compression numbers will be different. I am not an rx8 owner, so I can not give you what those numbers should exactly be. Some one else should comment on this.
However, long story short, your engine absolutely needs a rebuild, assuming you did the compression test correctly. I don't even know how your car started. One rotor has no compression, and the other has probably half of what it should have.
Get a second opinion to comfirm what I said before you decide what to do. A rebuild can be somewhat cheap or really expensive, depending on what the damage is. If you decide to rebuild, I have 2 nice rx8 irons for sale should you need them. I just think I need more posts to make a for sale thread. I've been on the rx7club for a few years now.
