Having problems!!!
OK so I have a 2004 Mazda RX eight for some reason earlier today I started my RX eight perfectly fine came home from work parked the car and then all of a sudden it my needle started spiking that it was overheating and it started smoking in the front then I turned off the car let it cool down for a little bit tried starting it and it would not start and I know the engine wasn't flooded because I didn't pump the gas because I know with a rotary engine you're not supposed to do that so I'm trying to figure out what could be possibly going on with my car so any feedback would be greatly appreciated because this is my first Mazda RX eight and I'm not very familiar with rotary engines

1. Try to break up your sentences with periods and commas. It makes it easier to read.
2. Have you checked your coolant level? How do you know it's not flooded? Did you remove any spark plugs? You can just make assumptions.
3. Are you getting any check engine lights? If so, have them read at autozone
4. When was the last time coils, plugs and wires were changed?
5. Did you have the compression tested prior to purchase?
Start off with reading this thread. Get acquainted with the renesis engine so that you can do some troubleshooting WITHOUT making the mistake of jumping to conclusions.

Well I checked the coolent level and there all good. I'm not to sure about the spark plugs, and I have not done a compression test. The only reason I know it's not flooded is because it started up fine when I drove it from work, and then when I got home my needle started spiking that it was overheating. So I let it cool down for a little bit and then tried to start it again and it wouldn't start and I didn't pump the gas because I know you're not supposed to do that.

It sounds like you have a couple problems on your hands:
Was there coolant anywhere on the ground after parking it or prior to starting it? If the car is overheating I wouldn't drive it too far until you figure out why. Could you tell where the steam was coming from?
You said the car wouldn't start, was the starter struggling or maybe not functioning? The starter is easy enough to take off and have tested at an autozone.
As Soldier said, you'll want to pull the plugs and see what they look like as well. At the end of my previous motor's life I could flood it on command, just by attempting to drive it past 5k and sometimes 4.5k RPM. So just not stomping on the gas does not mean that you didn't unintentionally flood the motor.
