hello, 2005 rx8 owner
bought rotors in the R1 Concepts thread. Probably my first major use of the forum besides the DIY deflooding for the average joe thread, and general avid reading. now dealing with other issues- seems i have a oil leak due to this part:
inexpensive replacement available? (metal portion leading to line which leads to oil cooler).. two metal pipes, one for forward i guess one for return, one is leaking, both look bad

This is a common failure point. The line will need to be replaced.Moisture gets trapped under the sleeve and rust starts forming and does not stop. The ball fitting is usually the first to go. We will need more pictures to make a positive determination. The fitting, clip, and line should be replaced together. These are NOT cheap from Mazda. Cheapest option is to find a part out here on the forum from a southern car and buy the parts that way.

thanks for the info, any way to temp improve the situation, temp. patch fix until new replacement?
what other pics would be needed?
where's best place to post to find a southern spare parts seller? seems got to get at least 8 more posts to post elsewhere in this forum.
when you say line you mean the additional rubber hose between that point and the cooler? (or in the other direction..?) (Can't just replace the metal portion?)

They're high pressure oil hoses so temporary fixes all include making new hoses. If you know a good hydraulics shop, they could custom some stuff for you, but it may not be any cheaper.
Chech ebay. Another option are stainless steel hoses from Racing Beat. Not cheap, but should be cheaper than OEM.
If yours is a manual transmission, you should have the same situation on the other side of the car, check that too. In fact one of the hoses in your picture goes to the other oil cooler.
