Hi
Thanks for the reply, the noise comes from the front where the actual engine is. I examined the cat when I changed the manifold (as I assumed the manifold had cracked) and the cat was in perfect order was no loose parts.
Could it be a bad coil? Perhaps not a complete burn from one rotor?
Thanks
Antony

Thanks for the replies, can anyone help with that noise? Is it normal because right now I am not likely the sound of the rx8 ![Frown](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/frown.gif)
I love the car but I a car that sounds like an old van with a blown exhaust is not something I will keep long![Frown](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/frown.gif)
Thanks

Life After 8K RPM....
No, it don't sound normal. Infact to me it don't even sound like its exhaust related.
Does the sound disappear at all when you go at high speeds?
Does it get louder with higher rpms?
It could just be one of the belts under the hood or the pulleys.

Hi
Thanks for the reply.
It is only apparent at low rpms (3000 or less) and under load.
I am thinking maybe a vac leak right on the lower manifold to rotor housing joint?
I am also going to check that all spark plugs are firing properly and are not fouled.
Thanks
