Ok first thing first.. We need more details.

Is it automatic / 6Spd
Just so you know RX8-s came with Rotary engine 1.3L

When was the engine swapped? whome was it swapped by?
Did you do the compression test? it is mandatory prior to purchase.

Cars 101: overheating is not normal, regardless what engine type, what car it dont matter.

You need to get your cooling system inspected.

Read this link a few times to understand what to do and what not to do with this car;

Hope all goes well for you

Check your coolant Level and ensure there is oil in the engine.

Look around for coolant leaks.

You may also have failing waterpump or Thermostat or coolant cooling fans or the radiator there is just so many things that could go wrong better get it inspected.

Dont drive the car till you discover what's causing it to overheat, you potentially destroy your engine. Rx8's engine rebuild costs $3500-5500 so don't take a chance.

typing a non-descriptive title makes it impossible for others to diagnose the issue by glance.
