I have a 2008 RX8 that has "something" completely wrong with it. Unfortunately I cannot find anyone that will as much as look at a rotary engine in my area. The nightmare started with a broken tooth on the electronic throttle body, then a catalyst converter issue, hollowed it out "ran amazing" for a very short period of time. Then I had a coolant line come off and dumped the antifreeze, got line reconnected and it would not start back. Replaced plugs, coils, and charged battery. With jumper cables it did start to have a continuous cloud of white smoke pouring from the exhaust. It has no throttle control and is idling continuously at 2200 rpm. Oil and antifreeze has not mixed to this point. What do i need to Do? Can anyone help?

overheating a renny can destroy a coolant seal quickly. i suggest all the new members threads at least twice. btw did you break your tooth on the tb or the part itself? my throttle body doesnt have teeth lol

It wouldn't start so I opened the tb and the tooth was lying in the bottom. After that when it wouldn't start I would have to open it with a screwdriver and it would go back to normal. If it is the coolant seal, what am I looking at? Thanks for the hel.

a water seal means it needs an engine rebuild. yes it can start but will run rough and smoke a lot. what is your coolant level like? i would start by pulling the plugs and posting a pic of them. if you damaged the tb im not sure if it would start or not, i have a spare for sale if you end up needing one. im in pa but if i was closer i would take a look.
again read all the new owners threads and maybe look for help in the regional forum, i have some friends in va that may help you out

The coolant level went back down when it started and ran but it has never overheated. As soon as i caught the smell of antifreeze I turned it off and it didn't start back for almost 5 months.
