Help help help!

I own a 2007 Mazda RX8 A/T 98,000 miles. Car is no longer under warranty. Was given this car from a relative whom passed away. Don't know much about it but I am having issues. The fan turns on immediately when A/C is on, after lots of stop and go traffic, and if sitting too long at idle. Along with that the engine vibrates and rattles when sitting at a light. Also with engine vibration I notice vibration in my driver side mirror as well as in the exhaust. Thought maybe I could get someone's expert opinion before I take it in to a mechanic. Sorry if this type of question has already been answered I just want to figure out what's wrong with the car before I have to get rid of it. I'm not so much experienced with cars but I enjoy driving the car and would like to drive it as long as I can. Thanks in advance.

The fans coming on is normal. Vibration is typically worn engine mounts. Read the new owners thread that is stickied in this sub section. Then come back.

Welcome..

And, yeah, there is some reading ahead of you. The fans are coming on when the compressor cycles. and going off when it turns off.

Lots of good reading in the thread in my signature block, as well as some recommended things to do to make life easier.

Where are you located?
