Help please!!!

percussionphenom@hotmail.com

Hey, I have a 2005 Mazda Rx-8. It has around 75,000 miles on it, and the plugs and coils are good. For the past few days I normally warm the car up and drive fine for hours. Eventually the car will start stalling when I have to stop at red lights or stop signs, and I have to crank it back up and give it gas quick or it will stall again. After that, besides the stalling at stops, eventually the traction control light comes on and/or Limp Mode. That forces me to accelerate super slow and only get to around 25mph. Usually when this happens I pull over, remove the 15A room fuse for around a minute and put it back in and then the car runs fine, but doesn't fix my problem, it still does it. Is their a way to turn traction control off? Maybe permanently?

Similar thing used to happen to me when I first got my 8. I replaced the spark plugs and that seemed to fix the issue. I would double check your plugs, pull them out and have a look. One of mine was literally cracked in half, not sure how.

Help please!!!

Are you getting any check engine lights? Do you have any mods?
When was the last time plugs, coils and wires were changed? And how did you verify that they're good?

What he said.

And, how much fuel in the tank? Does it do it on a full tank, or just around a quarter or half full?

I am thinking maybe fuel pump. Easy test is fill the tank and see if the issue goes away. This is not as much a low pressure problem as an old pump getting hot problem. Fuel keeps it cool.

I second what RX8Soldier and 04Green say above.

You can also check the MAF, ive had an issue before a catch can was installed that the MAF was coated in blowby and wasn't registering right causing a rough idle at operating temp and light to moderate stalling issues at low RPM. Plus what everyone above me said would be a good start.
