Hey from North Alabama (looking to test drive/ride in a sorted out RX-8)
Hey there, i’m Cody from North Alabama, and i’m obviously new to the forum. I have been doing a lot of homework on a future purchase, having owned dozens of MX-5’s,
as well as a couple Porsches, and a couple Corvettes, and a very exceptional Honda S2000, I have always been one to do all the work myself with my mechanical inclinations, but I found myself wanting to purchase a vehicle that I have always wanted to own, a Mazda RX-8.
And so I am on the hunt for one.
Well, the words that can sum this process up
easily, frustration and patience. No joke, for a 10-15 year old car, I am realizing that they do not often show up in exceptional mechanical and cosmetic condition often, and so I have been playing the waiting game. That being said, I have looked at three Mazda RX-8’s, each of them I come to find have substantial “issues”, are ragged out, or just in overall poor condition. I figured that with a cash budget of 10,000 dollars that I could find something that is perfect given the age of the car, but not so much. In honesty I would like to meet up with an RX-8 (must be manual) owner in North Alabama with a car (can be series 1 or 2, but I am considering a series 2) that is in excellent working order, just to get a taste of what a RX-8 in good order actually drives like, because the past three cars have been disappointments, not because the car is inherently flawed, but because they seem to be neglected.
