Hitachi Ignition Coils!?!?
Can anyone verify Hitachi actually makes ignition coils?
Is this the same manufacturer that makes computer hard drives?
I can only see quality coming from them , any input on this guys?
Or is this a dud??

I don't use any other coils other than Mazda Rev C so couldn't tell you. My experience with any aftermarket coils is that they will indeed work, but won't work for long. For something as critical as the ignition system, its definitely not a part to cheap out on.

They were already installed when I purchased my 8. They've been great for the last 4000km with no performance issue or misfire. I will definitely get the same kit when time to replace.

Mazda doesn't make their own coils. Like every car manufacturer, someone else makes them and it might just get a Mazda stamp somewhere, and put in a different package. A lot of times, if you know who makes them, they are usually cheaper than OEM parts and they are the same internally, just with different packaging.
I have read somewhere Hitachi makes the OEM units for Mazda but I can't confirm this. If you have a spare OEM coil you could probably have a look around and find out who makes them.
