*Update*

So I've done some work and gotten some other work done. The car's back on the road now, but it's time to get the body back in order. I'm looking to get a new hood, bumper cover and driver's side fender.

I found a line on a red hood with a couple of chips in the paint for $300. OEM from Mazda is $680. Would I be looking at saving any cashe by getting the $300 one repainted over a new hood?

Also, they're looking for $535 for the bumper cover, though i routinely see aftermarket ones go for considerably lower. Are they a viable option or is the fit and finish not worth it?

Have you seen the two piece OEM bra hood-cover for the RX-8? If you don't mind the look, which I like, it will completely cover the damage and the dent on your hood. There is a VR with it on a member's car. I just could not find a picture he posted in one of the Central Cali' RX-8 meet.
