I have lurked for a while.. making an intro
I am Ricky... I have 3 RX-8s ..I own a shop in Morgantown WV and am working on a 4g63 Conversion kit for these cars... I know some people will love the idea and some people will hate it ... but it is what it is and its what I know and love.. I am a big fan of this platform but not a big fan of the rotary engine..

FWIW I have successfully completed a 4g63 swap in an FB in the past... I am not new to the idea at all :-) ..any questions or comments feel free to hit me up.. I'll setup a blog about it sometime one more progress unfolds..

i would like to see the fb too. an 8 has a lot more electronics to work around than an fb does tho

haha the FB is dead and gone guys the car was rotting up ... it was a hack job we did years ago that we decided on a whim but made happen in just a couple weeks time.. .. but I'll see if i can find a video.. it ran a 14.1 once in the 1/4 ..(Slow) but it was literally just a project we threw together..
I am no stranger to EVO/DSM scene.. I am responsible for a mid 8 second 1g and a bunch of 9 second cars.. . I've always loved the rx8's just hate the renesis ...i've owned probably 7-8 of them throughout the years :P
I am not worried about the Electronics stuff.. I have 99 percent of it already figured out ... for the 8 i intend on retaining AC and and the EPS cruise etc... I have already simulated an eccentric shaft signal to the RX8 ECU and proven that I can get the power steering and the electronic throttle to work ...... I will run the DSM ECU and the RX8 ECU together the RX8 ECU mainly just controlling the accessories and misc crap DSM ECU running th eengine.. I will run almost all of the RX8's engine sensors (Which is not many) together along with the DSM Engine sensors so both ECUs will have their own set of "signals" ...a good friend of mine owns Frontline Fabrication (He makes all sorts of CNC Billet shiney things) That is on board with this as well ...I will keep a thread updated as I feel its at a point worthy of posting ..I can ensure you this is your little guy with big dreams thread ;-)
However I need to post here 10 times to get past the newbie nonsense and actually be able to post in other boards to actually post some more detailed questions as the need arises.

I have plenty of experience building fast DSMs and Evos.. I appreciate the resource but if theres a fast guy in the DSM Scene we probably at least know of each other .. (or each others accomplishments minimally)

Haha... MAYBE some manual drivetrain parts from the 8 .. but I do have a few spare transmissions here already ...
I don't think I need any DSM Parts.. I have a bazillion DSM parts.. probably 50-60K in used inventory ... I've owned hundreds of those cars.. buy 5-6 a month typically ...
