Ah. Makes sense. I live in Utah, so smaller, thinner tires were going to be mandatory anyways.

Well, not on summer tires. If you are going to use all seasons then yeah, just be prepared to give up plenty of grip for the non-cold months. If you are going to end up with 2 sets, which is much more recommended, your summers can be wide and sticky, leaving your winters with the narrow and grippy

I just need to get through this next season. I can't afford to drop on an extra set of tires until I pay this semester of school down. It still may be worth keeping the 18's just because buying them again would be worse than a set of 17's.
