I need some help choosing which model Rx-8 to buy
Hey guys, I have wanted an Rx-8 since I was like 8, I'm 15 now and I am thinking about purchasing one in about a year or two from now. I have had a few family members own them and I have just loved them since. I've never liked one model in peticular so I started doing a lot of research about all models but I still just don't which one to choose. They all have their ups and downs but all seem to be great cars. I am totally aware of the oil and gas consumption of these cars but I could care less about that. I also know that they need a little more TLC than other cars but again I I don't mind that. I will be capable of keeping up with it. I know that this may sound silly to some of you but I am mainly thinking about getting an automatic just simply because I haven't been able to learn how to drive a manual because I'm only 15. Even though I am 15 I am very responsible and reliable. Obviously I'm gonna have fun in it but I'm not your typical teen. I'm not gonna be out of control with it. I will be paying for it myself and my parents are completely fine with me buying an Rx-8. Like I said I just need some help deciding on which model to choose.
Being that most if not all of you own one I would really appreciate it someone could help me by explaining which one is best and why compared to the others.
Thanks guys, Zach

Hey Zach, it would benefit you to describe what you want/ don't want in order for us to assist you.
However at the end of the day, you should do your own reading and get what best suits your needs.

Get the manual. Learn to drive stick.
It's easier to modify your skill set to fit the right car now now than it is to modify the car later. You should learn to drive stick regardless of what car you end up buying.

My 8 was my first car and i had never even been in a stick car before in my life. After about a week of driving around the neighborhood i was driving 20 minutes to school and back doing hill starts every day. I recommend getting a MT as you'll have a lot more fun with it plus it's a good skill to be able to drive stick. But if you're set on an AT. However assuming you've been doing your reading on this forum, you should know to stay away from the 04 AT since they're riddled with problems. In my humble opinion, the series 1's (pre-2009) look a little better, but the series 2's (2009 or later) perform just a tiny bit better. The best advice i can give is to just check some out in person, you'll know when you've found yours.
