Hello Everyone, my rx8 used to beep a few times when i turn the key to the 'on' position, but ive just noticed today, that it no longer does this, what could be the problem?

Do you usually turn the key to the 'on' position with the door open and this time it was closed?

Quite possible TPMS warning beep. Check your tire pressure. If today was a cold dayn for you and this generally happens on cold days as opposed to hot, this could be the problem.

Does the instrument panel get the 'door ajar' light? I'm thinking maybe during the respray your contact sensor for the door got jammed, fouled, stuck, etc...

if the sensor is the problem, its just the black push button thing on the hinged panel of the door right?

The only time I can recall getting beeps after turning the ignition on is on cold mornings when the TPMS light comes on.
After the tires warm up the air in them expands and the light goes off. Then in the afternoons when it's warmer the light stays off and there's no beeps.
Could you have not noticed the TPMS light, and now that it's warmer it's no longer coming on?

That sounds like the door chime.
The TPMS is more like a beeping sound.
You've got me wondering now, I'll have to go check mine out.
Mine's an '04, I don't know if they're all the same.

Yeah, that's the door chime. It's possible that your chimer just died.

Us people on the other side of the pond have no idea what a "55 plate" means

I know it's a UK method of referring to cars, but that's about the extent of it

The Body and Accessories section should have what you need. It's probably going to be some work to figure out exactly what isn't working.
