Installing a Remote Starter

So, I'm going to try and install a remote starter on my 8 (2011 GT, w/ AKE).

I got this:

Viper 4205V (2-way remote starter)
Xpresskit DBALL2 (key bypass)
Xpresskit XKLoader2 (to program the key bypass and maybe the viper)

I have some experience with electronics, but never tried to do anything on a car.

Any tips or tricks to doing this? Am I missing something?

Seems like a lot of hassle. Do you live somewhere really cold?

In case someone stumbles into this post looking for info:

- 4205V does not support MT cars. Cheapest 2-way that does is the 4806V
- DBALL2 (supposedly) doesn't support the AKE. iDatalink does and that's what I got installed.

This is not DIY friendly, viper doesn't send complete installing instructions with the product only some basic pinout info, you have to be a dealer to get the detailed instructions.
Professionals that knew what they were doing took the whole day to install the starter, where a regular AT car would take a couple of hours.

tl;dr: If you've never installed a remote starter/alarm on a MT car, don't. Take it to a professional.

You should take it to a professional but if you try it by yourself good luck

Installing a Remote Starter

I work at a dealership where we took a brand new car to have a remote start installed in a MT car. The professionals couldnt even figure out how to install it correctly and the car was never the same after they uninstalled it. Partially why this is not on my to-do list. Just my .02.
