Jackstands Under Lower Control Arms

Question about jackstand placement. Last time I was working on my RX8 I lowered it onto jackstands which I located under the front lower control arms at the point where they mount to the subframe.

I was thinking about this recently and I'm wondering if it could have potentially caused any damage to the suspension. The control arms themselves look ok and visually everything looks fine to me but I'm wondering about the bushings or bolts for the control arms located at the mounting point. Should I be worried about any damage?

I've driven the car a significant amount since putting it up on the jackstands and haven't noticed any problems but I'd like to get some opinions from other RX8 owners. Any input would be appreciated.

It is probably fine but that is not a proper jack point. Use the frame rails up front and the jack stand point that are pre installed from the factory at the rear. There is a thread here about it.

Yeah I wanted to use the frame rails to put the jackstands under but I had to use them to jack up the car from since my jack wouldn't reach the front crossmember so I figured the spot under the control arm looked fairly sturdy to put a jackstand.

Yeah a good low profile jack is a must.

Good low profile jack,
And if you must, drive up onto a couple 2x4s to gain a bit more clearance.
