Hey guys.

I recently picked myself up a very tidy 2003 Type S RX-8 and had a few questions.

Firstly, is it possible to convert the head unit to support a standard head unit? (My rx-8 has the BOSE audio system).

And also, just curious as to how much WHP she runs from completely stock.

On top of all this, was planning on getting a full exhaust system and an intake. What brands would you guys recommend?

Before you do anything, I'd strongly suggest you read these 2 threads thoroughly. They have ample amount of info and will answer any questions you may have.

Now having said that, also provide more details about your ride such as is it 6spd manual or auto, mileage and etc.

If its 6spd manual its most likely 231hp model

As far as intakes are concerned, factory intake is far better than most. there are only 3 aftermarket intakes that will net you 1-3 hp over oem and they are; Racing Beat Revi, AEM/MazdaSpeed

Similar scenario goes for Exhaust, check out YouTube for sounds clips and see what you like best, i think the best bang for your buck would be a midpipe (remove the CAT and free up some power and eliminate an engine failure point)

* I'd also suggest you inspect and replace your ignition system before modding anything. Our Ignitions systems are very fragile.
* Also get a Compression test if you havne't already

Yeah its the 6spd manual running on 49,000km's. I'l give those threads a good look through
