Just got my 2011 R3! I love it!
After two months of searching, endless searching, and four disappointments, I finally found the RX-8 for me. A 2011 RX-8 R3, 37,000 miles on it. Has had a racing beat exhaust and bhr midpipe since 6,000 miles. Runs perfect, compression test was in the 9.3 range for each rotor face.
I have owned dozens of sports cars, ranging from 116 horsepower to 750 horsepower, corvettes, Porsches, S2000’s, and Miatas, but this car here; without a doubt, will never be put up for sale, I have never had a car that I love so much, it’s perfect for me. If I had to replace the engine every 10,000 miles, I would do it just for the experience...
Unfortunately getting caught in the rain was part of the drive back home. Got it home, did a double oil change, 10W-40 halvoline and a series 2 Mazda oil filter. I love it.

Finally had time to give it the wash and detailing it deserves.
Now does anyone know of any reputable tuners in the south east that has experience with the Series 2 RX-8’s, after replacing the ignition coils, I plan on installing a racing beat header and intake with ram air.
I am loving the car more and more, As I was telling a friend, it is like my 2007 Porsche Cayman S plus, Honda S2000 with the friendliness of a NC Miata. That engine, it just keeps on going in this car. I love it. Any further advice or recommendations for reliable motoring, let me know!

Leave the intake and header alone. There's not much to be gained. Neither does tuning. It's a very high dollar per horsepower conversion. And with intakes, you usually lose power. Take out the cat with a good midpipe, get a nice catback, and that's about it unless you go forced induction. These cars don't respond well to NA mods.
