Just got my RX-8

I just bought a 2006 RX-8 with 60k miles on it. Just wondering what I need to know about the car. I read a lot about needing frequent oil changes, every 1500 miles or so?
What else do I need to know to keep this car in peak shape? Being my first rotary engine, does the car need to be driven differently?
Also the first mod I am going to perform will be an intake system, any suggestions on which one to get? I am looking at an AEM V2 Cold Air Intake System..
AEM V2 Cold Air Intakes - Videos, Sounds, Installations & Reviews
Any help and suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks!

Not you 200. Shazy's comment that I edited out was too close to flaming for the newbie forum.
Though, yes, you are correct. Those are 16" wheels that were only on the 2004-2005 4-port automatics to the best of my knowledge. They are too small to fit over the sport suspension brakes, so I guess it depends on if the sport suspension was standard for 2006? I guess it wasn't. Unless the year is wrong.

It is auto unfortunately, I am coming from a manual 3000GT and for the price and amount of miles it had on it I couldn't pass on it. I can handle the flaming, no worries. I am not a child who will run away crying because someone is poking fun. This is also 100% a 2006. What is a 6port 200?

No one is going to make fun of you for having an auto. I have one and I love it. Screw anyone who has hate. Our cars are beautiful machines no matter what.
Grats and welcome to the club.

It's one of the two engine variants for the RX-8. 6-port or 4-port. The 6-port has 2 more intake ports than the 4-port, a more complicated intake system, and can flow more air at high RPM as a result. It's referred to as the "hi power" in Europe for that reason.
2004 and 2005 automatics were the only north america RX-8s that got the 4-port. 2006 and higher were all 6-port.
This is why the 2004 and 2005 automatics are rated at 192hp, vs the 2006-2008 automatics being rated at 211hp.

I completely agree with you. They are definitely an eyesore that needs fixing soon.
