Just Purchased an 04 RX8 GT 6Speed with 33K Miles!
Good Morning Everyone. I just purchased an 04 GT Manual off the original owner last night. It has about 33,000 miles on it and looks like new. Older gentleman owned it. Has had regular oil changes and such but I'm over protective of my cars so I will probably do it again. Anything I should do right now? Seems to be running fine but maybe want to do some PM to make her last a happy and healthy life with me! Thanks Corey!

Water Foul
Welcome!
These are really cool cars. There are a few things you have to stay on top of to keep one running at its best. The number 1 thing you need to worry about is ignition health. The coils and wires are wearable items on this car, just like the plugs. You should plan on replacing the entire ignition system every 20 to 30K miles. A weak ignition system will clog the cat. A clogged cat will kill the engine. Once the failure cascade begins, it is over very quickly.

Thanks Everyone!
Here is my plan of attack!
1.Replace Air Filter and Cabin Air Filter - Completed. Looks like a little mouse took resident at some point so glad that is gone!!!
2. Order OEM Mazda Ignition Coils and NGK Wires/Plugs. I took off number 1 coil last night and saw a faint white mark so these are getting replaced with the 100B ones.
3. I ordered a set of Power Stop K2727 Brake Pads and Rotors. They will not stop squealling on there now. Probably because they are 13 years old
4. Having Mazda change oil, coolant, brake, and transmission fluid so I have a baseline where to go.
As as far as the compression test I'm not sure about that yet. Probably will do it but I'm already broke with what I bought above lol.
Here re are some pictures too
Thanks
Corey
