Hi guys I’ve been recently building up a 2004 rx8 and when I want to press on the Gas the vehicle stays in place for a second or two then proceeds to move very quickly and shoots from one mileage to another (ex. 10mph to 22mph) and after that going on for a while it just shuts off anybody had a similar expirience and can offer some advice , thanks

for starters the engine didn’t start a couple weeks ago, was flooded severely just changed up spark plugs, relays, catalityc converter, fuel pump and some other minimal things. The car is automatic

Could be a transmission issue. When was it last serviced?

Among the things you've replaced, I don't see ignition coils. Really need those every 25-30k miles. But they wouldn't cause your actual issue. If they're old, they'll kill your new cat in short order. May also be the cause of stalling when warm.
But, probably not the cause of your issue. The automatics get vehicle speed from a sensor on the trans, so if it's fluctuating then the vehicle speed sensor or the wiring to it are damaged.
If it takes a long time to shift into gear, I'd lean toward low fluid. If it was a shift solenoid, it would die on shift or not shift at all.
Stalling when warm is a common indicator of compression loss though, so... have you had it tested?
