Lgx swap

I am swapping with a 2016 camaro. LGX 6 manual.
I found a company that is now producing the LGXmanifold exhaust flange in mild steel and stainless. I sent them the gaskets and they put the flanges in production and are available now.
sure no one is doing the LGX yet but I am. Cause I’m just different and enjoy challenges.

Interesting will you fabricate most things yourself like engine mounts ?

LGX fabrication

Yes I used the LGX motor mounts along with 1/2” aluminum flat bar mounted to Mazda original motor frame mount, then made a pipe spacer between it and GM motor mount, bolted through with a 9/16” grade 5 bolt tightened. Then Tig welded the pot aluminum GM part with multi passes for strength and then filled and tig welded to the flat bar. Not pretty but is strong and worked. So we’re motor landed I’m making the trans cross brace with universal mount. Trans is the TR3160 Camaro. So now I will be cutting and extending the shifter mount bracket and shifter rod by 2” with my aluminum and tig weld it. Having to fabricate everything with basic tools and equipment. No machine shop parts here.

still a newbie can’t upload a lot of pics and no skills on URL links

LGX swap

My exhaust pipes mufflers flex pipe ring clamps arrived today. Getting set up to start the fabrication from the new flanges from CBM Motor sports to all the way back to the rear end. Another challenge to shape and form the first section to match the flanges and have the correct down angle. Wish me luck.

LGX swap exhaust

I started building the passenger side header down tube. Using steel 2-1/2” OD pipe. Putting those band ring couplers on the exhaust so it will be easy to install remove re install remove and re install. Plan on it going in and out multitude times during build. My welds are still worse looking than an amateur but they are solid.

LGX exhaust

Got the driver side down pipe finished. I need a break from thinking. I will have to figure the underside pipes that need some bends to line up underneath. Will mark up two pipes and find the muffler shop that would put the bends in for me. It might take couple trips to get just right I hope.
have those ring clamps on, then a flex/vibration joint installed.
