LIMP MODE just occurred...
Hi, and yes I have been looking through all the other threads, just wondering if there is something that might cause this, ?Please help if you can..I dont have an ECU reader;
Symptoms are;
05 Plate Ser1, 57000m
Been running fine no issues
No starting issues no smoke or abnormal noises
went to start just now and the Engine management indicator stayed on, car wont rev past 4k, drove it round the block to warm up the engine etc.
All fluids fine, checked regularly, has regular oil & filter changes..
Nothing seems untoward just wont REV..
Coil packs changed about 5K ago
I've just disconnected the battery to see if that will reset anything, I'd tried the 40 break pedal pushes in 8 seconds routine but no change..
just hoping its nothing major?
Thanks

ECU doesn't know when the oil lines are clogged. It does know if the pump position switch isn't in the right place. That will cause a limp mode without a CEL. Any other pump failure mode will throw a CEL.
There are other limp mode causes like throttle issues or temporary sensor errors... but they usually will have a CEL as well

Thanks, I'll get an ODB reader to try and ascertain the engine warning light, also I'll take a look at the OMP connection and clean and reset and add some dialectic grease to the connection and see if that fixes it.

Limp MODE OMP
Thanks all, purchased an ODB reader an as you advertised it pointed to the OMP, I removed the breather box, and battery but the 10mm base bolt in the battery pan is rusted solid and now rounded head..had given some pen fluid and left and have now ordered some nut removal sockets for rounded heads, hopefully they can help me extract that bolt so I can remove the battery base pan, then I can get access to the OMP connections and try a clean and dielectric grease and see if it resolves.
