To Loki or anyone who has an answer

Here are the pics of the wires I cut off from the rx8. They’re from the upstream O2 sensor which is the fuel/air ratio sensor. 1 pic is from I cut off the wires from the harness connector to the O2 sensor that go to the car, second one is the harness connector itself. 1red yellow, 1blue yellow, a pink and a purple. I think I can figure it out color wise on how to solder or tape en back together... but what I don’t know is where does the wire that I circled in red how to??? Help please

This would be a lot easier if you just continued the thread you started previously.
I'm pretty confused by what I'm seeing here, the colours at the connector don't match what your first picture shows, which is supposed to be the other end of the same wires. So I have no idea what that wire is, and it's a bit hard to even tell what colour it is because the picture is taken from super far away.

Too late now, but if you ever cut wires again, invest a few bucks for a book of wire markers or a roll of masking tape & a permanent marker.

Why would you cut the harness? If you decide to repair the wiring, do not tape them back together. Do a good job soldering them and use heat shrink on the solder joint.

Do not solder O2 sensor wiring at any point along the wire path.
Dissimilar metals have a contact potential (voltage) that varies with temperature.

A good crimp connection using proper tools will be as good as or better than soldering. Especially if you use the nice butt connectors made with heat shrink plastic.

I am at a total loss as to why you would have cut that harness, but once you get the wire colors figured out, use these for the repair:

26-20 AWG TIN PLATED HEAT-SHRINK BUTT SPLICES from Aircraft Spruce

20-16 AWG TIN PLATED HEAT-SHRINK BUTT SPLICES from Aircraft Spruce

Thank you so much for your help. The reason I cut off the wire connector was because it was burnt and I was gonna try and wire the o2 sensor and the cutoff wire harness together. I don’t know what happen to the connector it self but it was not working when I plugged the o2 sensor. But that’s one of the things that I thought doing, those butt splices. But I’m ready to do the work but I still don’t know where that wire that’s with the purple and pink wires... is it jus ground or what do you think it is? It’s the wire that I circled red

Can you take a close-up picture of that unidentified wire? From here it looks kinda brown, maybe even bare copper, like the shielding.
