I'm sure the screens inhibit airflow, and I'm also sure I will not be straightening my fins every month. I'd be surprised if airflow through the screen into straight fins was less effective then airflow through no screen and bent fins. I might try and get my kids to straighten them for me before putting the screens on. I tried to straighten a few on my outback xt intercooler and lost interest very quickly.

I'm sure not of it means ****. The factory coolers are pretty tough, leaks from debri hitting them are unheard of and I have seen cars in front end collisions that had the coolers all twisted up and they didn't leak oil. Mine were pretty bashed up and after hours of straightening, the oil temps saw no improvement.
The only screen from RB that is worth the money is the rad screen for cars that did not come with the factory screen because I have seen holes punched in the AC condenser due to not having a screen.
But yeah if I had known of American Cooler at the time I would have just sent mine off to them.

BTW I have the oil cooler screens and the ac condenser screen from RB. Racing Beat screens won't hurt your car's cooling, but will protect from debris damage. No one has ever proved elsewise .

When I searched oil cooler screens, the results are either from this forum, or motorcycle forums.
I honestly can't get a conclusion from searching, either. Threads regarding this subject on motorcycle forums are pretty much just the first page repeated with slightly different words.
I'd definitely add these to my shopping list.
Jastreb - thanks for your input. Good to see some hard data.
9k - thanks, I will try those.

Considering what they looked like before I thought they did a pretty good job. However, the thermostat nut was only hand-tight. If I hadn’t intended to remove and modify them I might not have thought to check. So just FYI to make sure the thermostat is tight when you re-install the oil coolers.
They told me $120 each before I sent them in, but only charged $100 each. Not sure if it was a mistake or a discount for some reason.

When I called them, they said the price depended on condition but most likely would be $120 when I was thinking of sending them one. In the end I decided to straighten them myself and just do a couple rows at a time to keep my sanity. Mine came out better than anticipated, though a couple fins did break.
