looking for an 8!
Hello all!
Michael here from Sacramento. Looking to get into an 8 in the next few weeks. I love cars and pushing them to their limit, although until now its been done illegaly. I want a dedicated track car so I don't get caught doing something stupid, which i'm kind of surprised hasn't happened so far.
I drive a lightly modded 2011wrx now, but its too much car for commuting and holds too much value to mod and turn into a track car. I'll turn her in to carmax, then shop around for a 04-05 rx8 with under 100k miles. I should be able to snag one for 5-6k, which will leave me about 5k for repairs and mods. Not looking to do anything major, suspension is pretty good stock i hear. No power mods, unless I convince myself to go FI. So basically just maintenance stuff, wheels/tires, brake pads, etc..
If anyone has any advice, I'm all ears!

Go to the stickies section of the new member forum. Go to "New and potential owners start here" and " Congratulations, you just got an 8" then read. Read. And read some more. All the info you're looking for is there.
Edit: But an SOHN adapter, staying on top of all routine maintenance, and red lining often are all great places to start. If it's a track car, cooling upgrades may also be a good place to look.
